We build in aluminum

Metaltec Naval® has specialized mainly in the construction of passenger vessels made of aluminum, with diesel or electric propulsion as demand for new cleaner and more environmentally friendly technologies.

We have a team of highly qualified professionals to cover the total manufacturing and installation of naval equipment, having the necessary technical resources and facilities in a strategic location in the Bay of Santander.

At Metaltec Naval® we operate in the naval sector for the national and international market, dedicated to the development of our own projects as well as those of our clients with their integral construction.

ADVANTAGES OF ALUMINUM BOAT BUILDING

1) ROBUSTNESS: INCREASED RESISTANCE AND RIGIDITY
Aluminum has higher resistance than fiberglass laminates. The boat is more robust, the whole structure is more rigid and the material suffers less from fatigue. Thanks to its high ductility, it has a greater capacity to absorb deformations without breaking in case of impact. The boat suffers less wear and abrasion during its use, as well as during transport, launching maneuvers, dockage, cleaning, etc.
2) LESS WEIGHT, LESS CONSUMPTION
Boats built in aluminum are lighter than those built in polyester, steel or wood. So you need less propulsion capacity for the same performance, engine savings, consumption and emissions.
3) GREATER SAFETY AND TIGHTNESS
In case of fire, aluminum does not burn, unlike polyester or wooden boats. In the event of a collision, the aluminum deforms without cracks or fissures, unless there is obviously a very violent impact. By being able to weld the various deck or interior fittings directly to its structure without having to drill it, a better tightness is achieved.
4) EFFICIENT AND FAST REPAIR
A damage consisting of a blow, whether it has caused breakage or simply a deformation, can be easily repaired with total guarantee without any loss of hull resistance. Repairs on hulls made of other materials do not always restore the original mechanical properties, in addition to being slower, higher cost and taking the boat out of use for longer.
5) LOWER MAINTENANCE COST
The fouling power of microorganisms is lower in an aluminum hull properly treated. Corrosion resistance with current alloys is excellent and degradation is practically nil with an adequate cathodic protection system.
6) GREATER POSSIBILITY OF CUSTOMIZATION
By not using expensive molds during construction, as in the case of fiberglass boats, there are more possibilities to customize numerous details to the shipowner’s taste (cabins, hatches, deck elements, etc.).
7) NOT AFFECTED BY THE PHENOMENON OF OSMOSIS
As it is a metallic material, it is not affected by the phenomenon of osmosis.
8. GREATER RESISTANCE TO SUNLIGHT EXPOSURE
Aluminum does not deteriorate from exposure to sunlight
9.) LONGER USEFUL LIFE AND RESIDUAL VALUE
Aluminium suffers less wear and tear. Over the years, an aluminium boat suffers less depreciation compared to boats made of other materials.
10) FULLY RECYCLABLE MATERIAL
Unlike boats made of other materials, aluminium is fully recyclable.
