Metaltec Naval innovation shipyard will unveil tomorrow to the media the first unit of the ECOCAT line, the first electrosolar passenger catamaran in Europe. This briefing will take place from 12.30 in the industrial facilities of the company in the area of the Bay of Santander, specifically in the industrial park of Raos.

The current stage of constructive development of the vessel, of almost 20 m. of length and 8 of beam, will allow the presentation to take place on the catamaran’s own deck.

The 25 tons of ECOCAT -constructed in aluminum and with a capacity of 120 passengers plus crew- will be 100% electric propelled. Its autonomy: 8 hours thanks, among other innovative elements, to its system of deployable solar wings that increases the surface of capture and generation of photovoltaic solar energy.

ECOCAT is part of the ECOBOAT ® range of ecological ships of Spanish naval technology, conceptualized and developed by Metaltec Naval.
